al Rowe - Lead & Rhythm Guitar

Al Rowe has been on the Nashville music scene for more than two decades. His versatility has provided opportunities to work with a variety of artists and in an array of musical styles. Al is equally at home playing Blues, Rock, Country, or R&B. As a country player, Al doubled on pedal steel guitar. He recently completed a run as guitarist for the theatre production of Honky Tonk Angels.

Since being Nashville, Al has co-written and recorded five Blues CDs with various bands. One such band, Lara and the Bluz Dawgz, was honored when their song, 'This Place is Rockin' was given the opening slot on the Blues compilation album, Keeping the Blues Alive, Volume 5.

Al's roots run deepest in the R&B genre. His love of the recordings crafted by Stax, Motown, and Chess, to name a few, brought him to work with the talented musicians in The Fire. His clean, funky, Steve Cropper-inspired riffs round out The Fire’s rhythm section.

Carl Brenner - Drums/Background Vocals

In 6th grade, Carl Brenner switched from trumpet to playing drums. He’s been laying in solid backbeats ever since. He also lay’s down some deep, soulful grooves. Plus, he can play a mean surf beat! At the age of 19, toured with the 60’s surf duo Jan & Dean on their Dead Man’s Curve movie promotional tour. In those touring days, he had the invaluable experiences of backing up, and playing on the same stage with, rock-n-roll legends Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The Drifters, The Four Tops, The Ronette’s, The Shirelle’s, The Grass Roots, Jay & The Americans, and many more.

Performing with these greats at the Palladium in NYC, the Starwood in LA, the Birmingham Coliseum, The Phoenix Conference center, Six Flags Over Texas, King’s Island, and every venue in between, was a real dream come true for a young mid-west drummer!

Since then, Carl has never laid down the sticks. Now, Amy Stokes & The Fire is his musical passion and focus!

Doug Corbin - Bass/Background Vocals

Doug’s solid soul foundation is the cornerstone of The Fire’s rhythm section. Here’s a man that lays down a groove like no one else. He’s rock solid and has played with some of the best soul artists in the world. Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave, Bo Diddley, Mary Wells, Curtis Womack, The Shirelles, just to name a few…

He’s opened for Marshall Crenshaw, Diamond Rio, Dixie Chicks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Danny Gatton, Sawyer Brown, Waitresses, Chi-Lites, The System
